Tonight Taylor and I drove home from work for the last time and maybe cried a little (or a lot) talking about our favorite memories from our time at Liberty. Today was our last night at Liberty, our last day working at Camp Hydaway, and our last day with all our friends.
Today was so bittersweet! Taylor, Mikaela, and I are all moving back to Hendersonville this summer and we are SO EXCITED. But in saying goodbye to all of our friends, I realized just how much I hate goodbyes. I never cry, and I started crying a little bit when I said goodbye to Camille and Haley. Camille ran off saying, “YOU KNOW I DON’T DO GOODBYES!”
Tay and I have been working at Camp Hydaway all semester, and absolutely love the people we work with. It’s been the best job. And it was so weird to drive away for the last time, knowing that we won’t be coming back. We both head out of Lynchburg tomorrow morning and then that’s it! We’re done with Liberty. And it’s so weird. I know we are all so excited to live life in Hendersonville this summer, but we’re leaving such a special place and such special people.
But here’s the thing, I also thought to myself in the bittersweet time yesterday, I am so thankful to have friends that I hate saying goodbye to. You know? It was so hard to say goodbye because I love them all so much and man am I going to miss these people here.
So I’ve decided to say “see you later” until now, because all my Liberty peeps, we’re going to have one big reunion at Mikaela and Nolan’s wedding. WHOOOO. I can’t wait for that reunion; it’s going to be the best.
But until then, Lynchburg it’s been real. Liberty, it’s been great. And all my sweet friends, I love you all so dearly. I can’t really comprehend leaving Liberty for the last time ever tomorrow morning, but wow am I ever thankful that Jesus brought me to this place.
Well, here’s to Summer!
