Breathe In – Breathe Out
So if you’re in college, then most likely your in the same boat as me: exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, and overall just done with this semester (at least school-wise). Today was just one of those days where I felt like at any moment I would burst into tears. Nothing is wrong. I only have one final exam and one project – but everything in me is just done. No motivation. No desire to do anything. The other day – while sitting having another pity party, I was encouraged to go spend some time alone in the prayer chapel. If you go to Liberty – I highly encourage you to spend time in the prayer chapel. With roommates and fun things going on all around you – sometimes it’s hard to just breathe. Every time I’ve gone into the prayer chapel, I breathe. I pray. I rest. I worship.
This time at the prayer chapel after spending some time in prayer, I began to fall asleep on the pew. In the moment, I knew I could just breathe in and breathe out. I got a beautiful picture of what it means to breathe Jesus in and breathe Jesus out. When we breathe air it doesn’t just all come back out, but that air going through our bloodstream and keeps our body running. We need Jesus like air. We need to breathe him in, so he will pour through our blood and keep us going. And once we let ourselves breathe Jesus in, you will breathe him out. You will breathe out love, kindness, and essentially the Gospel.
Altogether, take time to rest. In the midst of finals and craziness and season changes. Just Breathe. Take a deep breath and seek Jesus in everything.
Not sure if that makes any sense, it made sense to me at that moment. I might also just be a little crazy due to the lack of sleep and lots of caffeine from this finals week.
See y'all tomorrow!
